I have been swimming since I was 6 years old on my community summer league team. It was only until 7th grade that I realized swimming was the only thing I wanted to do. I struggled with asthma as a child so swimming seemed to be a natural fit because it doesn't require much running. Ever since I joined SNOW, I met my best friends and practically my second family. Claude Moore, the pool I train at for short course, is my second home. Swimming has honestly changed my life in so many ways and I am forever grateful.
Swimming helped me manage my time between sports and school. School is important because academics are what help you get into college, not just sports. It is important to balance between the two. My parents have given me an ultimatum ever since I decided to swim competitively that if I don't keep up my grades, then I can't swim. I know that at some point I will have to part with swimming but I hope to continue in college at any level possible.
I am a strong leader on my team and get along with people of all different personalities. I love how swimming can be a team sport and also an individual sport. I am a perfect candidate because I am a team player and can bring my charisma onto the pool deck.
