Taylor Short '20 Recruiting Profile

I have been in the pool since I was a toddler, starting with swim lessons at the YMCA. I joined my first swim team when I was seven, and joined my current swim team when I was eight. Ever since I became part of a team, I knew that that swimming was where I was meant to be.

What I enjoy the most about swimming is the ‘team’ aspect. I love working hard with my teammates, especially because we push each other to be the best that we can possibly be. Swimming has not only allowed me to learn about the sport but to also learn about myself. I have learned that I possess a strong work ethic and will to succeed, along with natural leadership abilities. Academically, I attend an engineering program at my school. I work and study hard to maintain a high GPA.

Ultimately, I want to attend a college that will allow me to push myself in the pool and in the classroom. I hope to become a great leader and a role model for all.
