Ruchi Nanda '17 Recruiting Profile

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Ruchi Nanda and I am currently a junior at Thomas S. Wootton High School. My research interests primarily span in the area of environmental science. To that end, I also want to understand the overall impact of nuclear related technologies towards harnessing energy and how it impacts the environment. I am currently taking AP Chemistry and AP Calculus and I plan on taking AP Environmental Science during my senior year that will help me put a strong foot in my endeavor.  I am very keen in following the trends in global warming to understand its impact in environment as well. As an American, I am also aware of the important role that our country has, as many other states look to us to be a leader in peaceful nuclear arms regulations, especially in this new era of renewable energy and green revolution. I am immensely fascinated and want to be a part of the select group of professionals who protect people and the environment with the peaceful use of nuclear materials in medicine, industry and research.

In addition to various AP classes that I have and am taking, I am an award winning Tennis Player and this has taught me, albeit on a much smaller scale, how to manage a diverse playing field. I am the currently the captain of Varsity Tennis team at Wootton High School (Division -1 team.).  I have won several Tennis awards including the 2015 and 2016 Maryland State finalist. Playing Tennis has become my passion and a part of who I am and of course I intend to continue playing Tennis for my college and I am looking for scholarship opportunities. I love to teach and promote this sport with smaller kids.
