Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Bailee McCorkle. I am 17 years old. I will be a senior this upcoming school year at Greenwood High School. I have attended Greenwood schools my entire life. I would describe myself as a goal-setter who does whatever it takes to reach that goal. I am very competitive, friendly, dependable, and outgoing. I also love challenges.
I began my athletic career as a competitive gymnast at age 3 until the age of 12, ending as a level 8. I, then, began my polevaulting career in 7th grade. That year, I set a new High School record by clearing 9'7". The summer of my 8th grade year I attended the USATF Junior Olympic series. I won both the Arkansas Association Championships and the Region 9 Championships. I went on to compete in the National Championships and placed 3rd. In 9th grade I competed with my High School track team and won both Indoor and Outdoor State Championships. During that year, I set a new PR at 12'1". My 10th grade year, I placed 3rd behind the Weeks twins at Indoor State Championships by jumping 12'6". My junior year of High School I was Indoor State Champion and jumped a PR of 12'9", which is my current PR.
My plans for college are to major in Biology. I am interested in becoming a Specialized Medical Doctor or a Physician Assistant.
