My dream is to compete at the highest level possible and to do so in a manner that brings pride and honor to my family, my coaches and my teammates. I know that my performance, whether on the track, the basketball court, in the classroom or in public can cast a positive or not so positive light on those associated with me. I chose the first option. I strive to do well in the classroom, knowing that hard work there will keep many doors open for me beyond athletics. I also understand that great performances are created on the practice field, track, court or weight room. It doesn't happen magically. I am committed to learning and willing to take feedback and criticism to improve myself, in all aspects of life.
For the past two years, I've taken up track and field as a spring sport, training for three to four months at a time. I've now rededicated myself to focusing the next two years of my high school career on track and field, making it my primary focus. Between training, recruiting and competition, track and field is now my top athletic priority.
A quote I try to live by is "the will to win is important, but the will to prepare to win is what separates those who wish and dream from those who make it happen".
