My name is Macey Colin and I will be starting my Junior year at East Noble High School in Kendallville, IN. I have run Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Track for mid-distance and distance since my freshman year.
I also previously played basketball competitively around the midwest on AAU teams through my freshman year of high school.
I started running distance in 7th grade and fell in love. Running is now my passion. I was fortunate to set middle school records in both the 800 and 1600 in track and was part of our 4x400 relay team and our number 1 girl in 100m hurdles. Once in high school, I was our #2 girl on our varsity cross country team as a freshman. In track, I left hurdles to run mid-distance and distance. I love the camaraderie of my running teams and just hope to continue that while I keep striving for new goals as a college athlete.
I'm told I've always been very driven & competitive in anything I do. I know I if I want to be better, I have to work harder. I make sure I train on my own time, outside of gym/practice times while still following my coaches' and trainer's advice. Past coaches have said I am a very coachable athlete, which I believe has been a factor in my athletic success. Running has not just made me physically stronger, but mentally stronger as well. I have had to overcome two ankle injuries (one in 7th grade and one as a freshman) and have battled my way back to being a top competitor each time.
I really enjoy the team support & competitiveness in running and that is very important to for me to continue in my college athletic career as well. I hope to be a strong competitor at the collegiate level in athletics while I continue towards my academic goals.
