My name is Macey Colin and I am starting my sophmore year East Noble High School in Kendallville, IN. I was #2 on Varsity Cross Country team as a freshman, played JV/Varsity for basketball, and Varsity Track for mid-distance and distance. I started basketball when I was 5 years old and played competitively around the midwest on AAU teams through my freshman year of high school. But then started distance running in 7th grade, and quickly fell in love with running! Running is now my PASSION. I was our #1 girls runner cross country in 8th grade, and #2 girl on our varsity cross country team as a freshman. I was fortunate to set middle school records in both the 800 and 1600 in track and was part of our 4x400 relay team and our number 1 girl in 100m hurdles. Once in Josh school I left hurdles and run mid-distance to distance. I love the camaraderie of my running teams and just hope to continue that while I keep striving for new goals as a college athlete.
I'm told I've always been very driven & competitive in anything I do. I know I if I want to be better, I have to work harder. I make sure I train on my own time, outside of gym/practice times while still following my coaches' and trainer's advice. Past coaches have said I am a very coachable athlete, which I believe has been a factor in my athletic success. Running has not just made me physically stronger, but mentally stronger as well. I have had to overcome two ankle injuries (one in 7th grade and one as a freshman) and have battled my way back to being a top competitor each time.
I really enjoy the team support & competitiveness in running and that is very important to for me to continue in my college athletic career as well. I hope to be a strong competitor at the collegiate level in athletics while I continue towards my academic goals.
