My name is Siena Mostowy and I am a 17-year-old Sprinter from the Okanagan Athletics Club in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. I compete as a National and Provincial level sprinter in Canada and have wanted to run track for a US University for a long time.
What makes me unique as a recruit is that I am able to maintain a strong mental state individually while supporting and encouraging my teammates. This is something many coaches and athletes have commented on as being unique about me. Something that has always been pointed out to me is the way I can remain focused, even when things haven't gone my way in practice or at a meet. I believe what makes me a good candidate for your team is that I am someone who is a fast learner and is determined and motivated to improve every day I am training. I am very good at taking feedback from my coaches and teammates.
Some of my biggest accomplishments in my sport include competing in the Canada Summer Games Trials in June 2025 where I won my heat and finished in the top 5 in the 200m. I also competed in National Championships in 2024, breaking my previous PR to run a 25.24 in my 200m. I am the current Provincial Silver Medalist in the 100m. In the National Championships in 2023 I raced in the 100m and 200m as a U16 athlete and placed in the top 10 sprinters in Canada. I was also a silver medallist at BC Provincials in July 2023. In 2023 I was given an award from BC Athletics for best performance of the year in the 200m in the Province. In 2022 I competed in the Provincial Summer Games as a first-year U16 athlete where I was a double silver medallist in the 100m and the 4x100m relay as anchor. In that same year I ranked 2nd in my province of British Columbia in both the 100m and 200m.
Academically, I attend a Prep school in my Province which has really high academic standards and expectations and I am in the top of my class as a student with a 4.0 GPA.
What sets me apart from other recruits in character is how much I care about other people. I volunteer at a Senior's home for people with Dementia, work as a Track Coach for Junior track athletes, and also work part time at a grocery store in my neighbourhood. For the past two years I have also volunteered at a mental health clinic in my community. I also care a lot about my two younger sisters, my teammates, and my friends and hope to join your team!
