I have been running since I was 11 years old and have aspired to run at the collegiate level ever since. Track was not my 1st love. In fact, I only did it because my brothers were doing it and they were really good at the sport. But.....I quickly grew to love this sport. This sport has taught me discipline and has encouraged me to be better at most anything I aspire to do. I understand that participating in collegiate sports is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life and I am ready for that challenge.
I have strong finishes to my races and I have started to train 3/4 of the year. I am a team leader and try to lead by example. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working runners and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.
In the classroom, I have had to learn that grades and studying matter. I took that for granted in the beginning of my HS career. But I have learned that studying hard work is very gratifying and I now understand the importance of why it is called student athlete and not just athlete. I am also enrolled in the Bannister Leadership Program. I am a very active ambassador in that program.
I have earned Girls Track and Field Athlete of the year for 2021(Sophomore year) and 2022(Junior year). I did not have a Freshman (2020) season due to it being cancelled because of COVID-19. I want to attend a college where I can fit in academically and athletically. I recently became an Aunt and I hope to become a great role model for my nephew and to all of the student athletes that come behind me. I would love to make my parents proud and let them know that their sacrifices did not go unnoticed.
