Personal Statement

In college I am looking to mainly earn a degree in secondary education or possibly exercise science while also competing competitively on a good division 1 or 2 track team. I hope to excel in my events and learn how to become overall a better athlete while keeping sight of my academic goals. Running track has always been a huge passion of mine and I hope to continue pursuing this through college where I can call my team a second home and get super close to all of my teammates and coaches. As a big part of my life I hope to being a lot energy and potential to my future team and at the same time stay focused and do well academically.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • U of R sport training
  • 9/18/17 to 11/03/17
  • This was a small training group of three other athletes and I getting specific speed and track training before the indoor season. We has three University of Rochester trainers working with us giving us workout to complete in the the weight room. We also worked on form and explosiveness as well as our own strength. This camp ran for six weeks and was three times a week for an hour each. I found this training to be very helpful.
  • Camp/Event
  • Max Velocity Speed Camp
  • 7/01/17 to 9/05/17
  • This was a track camp over the summer that helped athletes better learn the skills that it takes to properly run and we also received advice on form and proper running technique. Not only that, we took part in vigorous workouts and practiced our individual events with some one on one training.
  • Camp/Event
  • Buffums Speed and Agility Camp
  • 6/20/16 to 8/31/16
  • This was a camp started and run by my high school track coach Matthew Buffum who wanted to encourage some of his athletes to continue training over the summer. Being three nights a week from 5-7, the five other athletes and I all gained a lot of knowledge and experience from doing it. This was by far the hardest camp I have ever done because every workout we did pushed us to our max limit. However good, the workout were designed to push our bodies in ways that we never thought possible.
