Hi! My name is Lauren Woods. I am a senior at White Plains Senior High School, and have just started my final high-school Indoor Track season. I hope to run in college, as well obtain an educational and worthwhile college experience. I believe that being on a team would be very advantageous in college not only because you meet new people that can become your friends, but it also calls for you to adopt good time management skills, which is very important. Running year round all through High School has made me adopt these skills, and has taught me how to manage my school work effectively.Being on a team, keeping my grades up, and being a part of other extracurriculars has also required me to adopt a positive attitude. I have accepted that on some days, the stress is going to be more than usual. However, I've also taught myself that breaking down is not a good way to respond to stress. What I know now is that stress only responds to strength, perseverance , and a clear head. I understand running in college is no easy feat. However, I believe that being challenged is an important component about growing up, which, in reality, is what college is all about. I am ready to go to next step in my running career.
