Personal Statement
My name is Manon Blackman and I am a high school student, track, and cross country runner at Springboro High School. I've been a runner since 8th grade. Growing up I tried to find the sport I loved and had difficulties until I tried Cross country and track. I immediately fell in love with running, the team spirit, and challenging myself. It taught me a lot from interacting with people, to pushing myself, relieving stress, and being healthy. I have been on varsity every single year I've ran. I knew I wanted to run in college as a freshman. With only five years of being a runner, that isn't enough. I'd love to find somewhere where I can study and do what I love.
I would be a great asset to any team. I love cheering people on and being everyone's supporter. I am usually very high in spirit and get along very well with everyone. Not only do I try my best to cheer, I am a very hard worker and usually when I want something I get it. I started having problems with my knee my sophomore year and had two surgeries. It took me a whole year to get back into running and strength. My junior year, I ended up running better than what I was doing the past years before my surgeries. I want to show that this is my strength. Whenever I fall to my weaknesses I just work harder and aim to be even better than before. I worked very hard and its paid off getting me where I am today. I have PRed almost every race from the start of my seasons to the end of my seasons every year I ran.
My goal in finding the right school for me is somewhere nearby home unless I have a great offer. I am usually very open to any ideas. I do believe I have enough strength to be in a division one college. I am also looking at division two colleges as well. I intend to go into the medical field. I have not chosen what I want to do in the but I'm leaning towards Nursing.
