I have been playing sports for as long as I can remember. I started playing ringette and soccer from a very young age and later transitioned to high level hockey when I was 10 and have played at the AA level up until this coming season because I have decided to train for throwing through the winter. It has always been a dream of mine to compete at the university level in a sport and I always thought it would be in hockey until I discovered track and field.
When I started high school in grade 9 I joined the track team as a thrower and found more success and love in this sport than I did on the ice. since then I have joined a club team to train with year round.
I am now going into my fourth year of training and am looking for a school team to call family for my post secondary education. I am a strong, well rounded athlete who leads by example and works hard in the circle, the gym and in the classroom. I was recently named my track clubs "Youth female field athlete of the year" and received the "coaches choice" award from my high school coaches showing that my coaches recognize my leadership and abilities.
I study hard to keep my average and grades up and am assistant captain of your schools varsity hockey team, a CBC (challenges, beliefs and change) leader, a student ambassador and a member of our anti-bullying team.
It would be a dream come true to study and compete at the highest level possible and to improve my skill in this sport. I am open to all options and hope to put my city on the map as well as be a positive role model for up and coming athletes.
