COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT
I am Chloe Thomas, a Canadian student-athlete at Westmount Secondary School. Currently, I am aspiring to become a college-level athlete in a D1 school with a strong academic/science program.
I originally was a competitive figure skater who competed for team Ontario at Skate Canada Nationals in the 2019 season. I fell in love with running after joining the local track team and decided to shift my focus from skating to running. Currently, I have raced in the 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5k, and 6k. Some of my career highlights include, placing 5th at The U18 Athletics Ontario Cross Country Championships, OFSAA Cross Country, Canadian Cross Country Nationals, and placing 3rd in the 1500m at the U20 Indoor Athletics Ontario Championships.
Academically, I am a strong student who seeks out chances to further my own learning through Enrichment and AP programs. Accountability, organization and determination are some of my strongest traits. I am currently enrolled at a self-paced school that has made setting and achieving goals second nature to me. I believe that any goal whether it be academic or athletic can be achieved through hard work, organization and dedication.
Thank you for taking the time to read through my personal statement!
