Running has always been something I cannot live without, it's that motivation to get up and seize the day no matter the circumstances. My passion for running jump-started in the sixth grade when I started training with my high school cross country coach, his work-ethic gave me the motivation to begin my career. My parents have been my biggest influencers as well as the greatest supporters keeping me disciplined and making sure I never lack anything. Time management has been my key to success both academically and athletically, as well as putting God first.
Academically I am on top of my grades as I like to plan study times for every course. I love a good challenge, therefore I take all dual-credit and AP classes and am proud to say I hold all A averages in all courses. I’m currently ranked in the top ten sitting at number seven in my class, am a member of the National Honor Society, and am taking a CNA course as I would love to major in Biology to become a Sports Medicine Doctor. In college, I would love to be able to visit with my professor at least once per semester. Athletically I stay on top of practices making sure the team and I complete the workouts given.
One of my greatest obstacles has been going into state my sophomore year projected to take seventh place, but due to my coaching staff’s decisions to park at the stadium rather than the designated parking area and having to walk three miles prior to my two-mile run caused me to lose mental focus and not be able to run at my full potential. We will never know what could’ve been, but I live learning to enjoy the process because tomorrow isn't guaranteed. What separates me from other recruits is my experience, ambition, consistency, faith, and love for others. What makes me a good candidate is my focus on the team's needs. My collegiate goal is to become an elite athlete with the help of my future coaching staff as well as meet the needs of my team.
