Personal Statement
My collegiate goals and aspirations are to compete in track while getting a first class college education. I'm very motivated to achieve both on the track and in school. As a freshman I experienced my first year with an organized track team. I had only run in elementary school with Girls on the Run. As I competed in the Indoor Season, my confidence grew. During the spring season I began to improve my times and was the part of a winning 4x400 relay team. The girls track team won our conference and regional championships. Then, as a Sophmore I experienced more success as a hurdler. During the 2014 Indoor Season I ran the 55 Meter Hurdles and competed at States finishing 6th in the Finals. I was also part of our 4x200 relay Team and finished First at Confernce. The Outdoor Season has been great for the 100 and 300 Meter Hurdles as I PR'd in both. I won the 300 meter hurdles in the Patriot Conference Championship and came in second in the 100 meter hurdles. At Regionals I also placed second in the 100 meter hurdles. In addition, I competed in both at States. This year was my first experience with 55 and 100 meter hurdles. My Junior year found me at the Indoor States where I finished 6th in the 55 meter hurdles where I PR'd. I was part of a winning 4x100 meter relay team that went to Nationals. During my outdoor season I PR'd in the 100 meter hurdles and was on the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams. Once again, I competed at Outdoor Nationals.
I know that Track is what I love and want to do along with studying fitness and design. My attitude is positive. I believe that a positive attitude will equal positive results. What makes me different from other recruits is that track has inspired me to push myself both athletically and academically. My main focus continues to be improving my PRs, training and conditioning and keeping up with my grades. I feel like I can do anything I work at and want to achieve.
