Personal Statement
I am currently in my junior year at Thetford Academy in Vermont. I have participated in seven years of track since middle school. I started track as a way to connect with my middle/high school, and to become more comfortable and familiar with my surroundings. Yet the sport has grown into a passion of mine, and a huge part of my life today. I have grown as an athlete and tremendously improved from when I first began. I’ve achieved personal goals, school records, along with D-III Vermont records, that I soon hope to push even higher for this up coming outdoor track and field season. Along with my track achievements I am also a varsity athlete, since freshman year, in soccer and basketball. Winning two championships in soccer as a starting defensive sweeper, and two championships in basketball, To top it off I got my 5th state championship helping our Track team win it's first state title. All told in the nine season of varsity sports I’ve played in six state championship games. Sports help define the person I am, and want to be, and are a huge contribution to my high school career. In addition to a strong athletic background, I have achieved high honors and honor roll multiple times with a current GPA of 3.80. Lastly I have been luck enough to travel several times with volunteer groups to assist in various ways. I’ve volunteered in Costa Rica, Haiti and several US communities with church and volunteer groups during school vacations where help was needed.
