Abby Johnson '23 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I started running I’ve had extremely big goals and aspirations to run at a high collegiate level. I have only been running since March 2020, and just recently started to run competitively; but I have made significant progress in that short amount of time. I work hard and put in 110% effort day in and day out. I am a self-driven, self-disciplined, and dedicated runner and student. Academics are very important to me as well, and I work just as hard in the classroom as I do in running. I am currently enrolled in the Early College Program, and am taking college-level courses to graduate high school with my high school diploma and Associate’s Degree, I currently maintain a 4.1 GPA.

My goal is to attend a school that will challenge me both athletically and academically to be my very best. I am constantly working to be better in every area of my life. I am striving to be a part of a team that I can contribute greatly to, and that pushes me and keeps me accountable for even the little things. I push myself hard in workouts and practices, and I try my best to encourage and motivate my team to push themselves to be the best athletes they can be. I believe in leading by example, and that is exactly what I do to lead my team to work hard for themselves. I would love to be a part of a team that shares the same love, drive, and passion for running just as much as I do, and a team that works hard together to achieve extremely big goals. Having a strong team is everything to me as a runner because I know that I will excel with positive energy all around me. I feel that I would be a contributor of positive energy around the hard work that is necessary to achieve great things.
