My name is Emma Camp, I am 15 years old and love the game of volleyball and basketball. Since I was a third grader, I found myself attracted to the game of volleyball and have purposefully set goals to achieve and improve myself on a personal level; from serving the ball to setting to being an all-around player on the court. What I love about volleyball and basketball is the thrill the game provides both mentally and physically, the game is competitive, it builds character, builds team comradery, and gives you the ability to improve yourself each day. Volleyball has been a tool that allows me to push to train better, practice harder, and be open-minded to receive helpful criticism when needed. I have been a part of the volleyball and basketball JV and Varsity girls’ teams for Chilton Christian Academy (CCA Patriots) for the last four years. For the last two years, I was chosen to be a leader and captain of the JV girls’ volleyball team. A role I took seriously, providing my team with positive feedback, a positive attitude, and encouragement. Together we celebrated our victories learned from our defeats and pushed to make ourselves better. It is with those goals we were crowned 2A ACAA Volleyball Champions in our JV girl’s division and 2A ACAA Volleyball Champions in our Varsity girl’s division for the 2023 year. In addition to playing volleyball for my school, I also played travel ball for two years for the Peach City Club.
Outside of volleyball and basketball, academics are important to me. I strive to be all I can be on and off the court, I like to learn new ideas and concepts, I am dedicated to my studies, and I work hard for my grades. I am an A Honor Roll student with a GPA of 4.0 as a 9th grader attending Chilton Christian Academy. I am a member of the BETA CLUB and the Student Leadership Council (SLC) in our school. As a student, I like to be involved in all activities provided by our school, and with those opportunities I have represented my school in the ACEA State Academic and Fine Arts, I have been a member of the Cheerleading Squad, Track and Field Team, and Fishing Team. As I look into my future education, my interests are in sports management or the medical field and although I am not set on what field I will pursue yet; I know both areas will allow me to be involved in the betterment of an individual, a family, or a team. My future is bright, I will continue to work hard, be responsible, and be dependable as I look forward to what is ahead for me in education, sports, and life.
