Personal Statement
I love volleyball with a passion and I feel as if this sport helps me in real world situations. I am most known for making quick decisions under pressure, being a joyful energy source to my team mates even if we or I are not doing so well at the time. Volleyball helps me develop relationships with coaches and girls that are very impactful to my life and being on a team makes me feel as if I have these sisters and have each other backs no matter what. There is so much more to volleyball than the game itself. My favorite quote when it comes to sports and what I live by is this, "It is not whether I win or lose. Ultimately, this might not be my day. And it is that philosophy towards sports, something that I truly live by. I am emotional. I want to win. I am hungry. I am a competitor. I have that fire. But deep down, I truly enjoy the art of competing so much more than the result" (Apolo Ohno). I not only love the sport but, it teaches me lessons at the same time. I play volleyball because I love it; because if I go more than a couple days without it, I get sad that I am not out there playing right now; because whenever I know I will be playing volleyball in the future, I get a surge of excitement shot throughout and I count the days, hours, and minutes until I know I am going to play. I am a great team mate, I avoid drama with the other girls, I do not let my emotions or outside forces get to me, and I hustle until I am sore to the bone. Thats what makes me a great player and there is nothing I wouldn't do for volleyball, thats a fact.
