Lily Kautai '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Lilyana Kautai, I'm a 5'10 pin hitter from San Mateo, California. This is my seventh year playing club volleyball and third year playing varsity volleyball. I currently play for Rage Westside and Menlo School. In college, I want to study sociology and criminology so that I can better understand the criminal justice system, what motivates the actions of criminals, and what we can do to prevent high levels of crime and incarceration in my community and throughout the country. I also want to continue playing volleyball because I enjoy being a part of a team and improving day in and day out. It will also allow me to have a built-in support system and community of people I can turn to while navigating college. Playing volleyball, attending practices, completing workouts, playing games, and participating in meetings will set me up to have a productive and healthy schedule while also balancing school and my academics. I am a good teammate/player because I am committed to getting better myself, but also pushing others to be the best that they can be on and off the court. In the last couple of years I have had to play positions that I don't normally play (middle blocker and setter) which not only shows how versatile I can be but also demonstrates my dedication to the success of any team that I am on.
