Sabrina Lechner '17 Recruiting Profile

Volleyball has helped shape me into the hard working, disciplined, and committed student-athlete that I am today. This sport has always been and always will remain a strong passion in my life. I am 5'11 middle hitter at Novato High School, CA with a vertical of 8’9”. As a strong academic student in the class of 2017, I made varsity as a freshman, became a starter by my sophomore year, and by my junior year, I was captain and earned Marin County Athletic League Honorable Mention distinction. As a leader on the court, I’m always the first to practice and the last to leave. Playing with Absolute Volleyball Club has allowed me to play with a highly competitive team. I plan to continue this passion playing at a DII/DIII level and remain an impactful player on the court.

Ideally, I would consider a college located on either coast of the country but will be open to explore other options where I can be a student-athlete while working for a business degree in management. I am looking for a school that will allow me to thrive at the best of my abilities, academically and competitively.

I am a dedicated student with a current 3.8 GPA. I acclimate well to new environments, make friends easily, am highly self-motivated, and have excellent study habits. Off the court, I spend my time helping others within the community through Girl Scouts, my church, and coaching young girls in CYO volleyball. I'm active in my school's chapter of California Scholastic Federation as well as being involved in my high school's leadership program. I have volunteered over 140 hours during my high school summers.

As a triplet, I am the second oldest of my family of four children and a former Irish dancer. I come from an athletic family where we’ve all been encouraged to find our passion on the courts or on the field.  If I am fortunate enough to be able to pursue my volleyball career at the collegiate level, I will continue to apply my proven dedication, competitiveness, strong work ethic, and determination to the team and school for which I play and attend.
