Personal Statement
The game of volleyball requires all parts to act as a whole, and without one part, the operation would fall apart all together. Through my high school team, I have acted as the team captain, and that job requires uniting the team as a whole, which is one of the reasons my coach selected me as our team captain. I have the knowledge, drive, and passion for this game, combined with excellent communication skills. This helps me to be able to help the team focus in crucial matches. Many athletes have the physical ability to play the game, but I feel that it is a combination of this along with mental drive and tenacity that is needed succeed in the game of volleyball.
The next step for many high school athletes (including myself) is the journey to Collegiate athletics. I want to go to a school where I can be heard, where I can make an immediate impact in the program during my freshman year, and be a valued player all the way through. That school may be Division III or Division I. I want to go to a school that truly values me for my volleyball, academic and social skills. Things I am looking for in a College or University are a small to medium-sized institution, between 2000 and 10,000 students. I want to go to a school that has a very traditional college town surrounding it, a place that is student-friendly, and supports and compliments the school and all of its qualities. I would like to go to a school that supplies a healthy learning environment, where students support each individual while at the same time providing the adventure of competition.
Most ahtletes desire to play at the highst level of competition possible, and I share this goal. However, education is also a huge part of the decision process, so a school with the entire package is a place that I feel would be an ideal environment for me. I want to be in a place that I can be proud of after I graduate. I want to take pride in where I went to school.
