Hello my name is Alison Meisenzahl and I am a volleyball player. Volleyball is a key part in my life and I don’t know where I would be without it, but volleyball is not my sole identity. I am a sophomore at San Juan Hills High School, part of the volleyball athletic program, a part of the performing arts choral program, and am also on the track to earning my seal of bilingualism in Spanish. In the future I plan on taking anatomy, pursuing my love for medicine and hope to work in the medical field when I am older. I work as hard as I can to maintain my 4.3 GPA as an honors student in school and also balancing the commitment that volleyball takes. As a smaller athlete I train an extra 3 days to increase my agility, vertical, and athleticism. I trail with an ex-NFL player at Body By Tra Athletics, and I also work with my coaches an extra day every week for a private lesson to lock in my passing and hitting. As an athlete I always try to do my best to be coachable and ask for as much feedback I can to be able to perform the best to my ability. Volleyball helps keep me grounded and I truly don’t know where I would be without it.
