My love for the sport of volleyball came at a really young age. Between watching my older cousins play and going to practice with my mom, who coached our high school, I knew volleyball was going to play a key role in my life. I want to be able to continue my athletic career in college and study to become a physical therapist. Through my own recovery from an ACL tear in my junior year, I was inspired by the impact therapists have on others, and I wish to do the same. My injury also taught me more about my sport and the true reason I love it so much. Not being able to play my junior year, I learned about the impact of being a leader off the court. I had to contribute to the team in a new way, and through that, I saw my sport from a new perspective. I became a new type of leader—one that wasn't all about putting stats up but supporting my teammates and bringing energy. My leadership is one of the many traits I wish to bring to my future team.
