I was a multi-sport athlete for over six years, but volleyball has always been my greatest passion. I like the drive, and satisfactory sense of personal accomplishment and teamwork that volleyball has to offer. But more importantly, I believe God has given me athletic ability and academic talent. I strive to be the best on and off the court. I want to make sure that through my actions I make my parents, family, and God proud.
Although I am 5’1”, my height doesn’t stop me. I was recognized as Core Values VBC's Dynamic Defender for the 2019-2020 club year. I was also awarded the team's Play of the Year because "Who says DS can't block?" I work hard and don't give up easily. I genuinely look forward to every practice and tournament with the same excitement, energy, and enthusiasm to compete and to give the game my all.
I maintain a 3.67 unweighted GPA and 4.58 weighted GPA, and I was inducted into the National Honor Society during my sophomore year. I have been on the honor roll each year since I was a freshman and have been awarded the Certificate of Academic Achievement at the level of High Honors every year. I participate in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at my high school. I am also in the process of completing my Gold Award which is the highest award in Girl Scouts where I have been a member for 13 years since I was a daisy in kindergarten.
Through volleyball, I am grateful to meet new families and friends who are a great source of support, inspiration, and now zoom collaboration during these wild Covid-19 times. I am blessed to volunteer my time with Robbie's Hope and Mary's Homes of Hope. I aspire to be a dentist or orthodontist, and I believe that playing collegiate volleyball will help me to fulfill my dreams.
