In my childhood, I swam, played tennis, soccer, did gymnastics, basketball, cross country, and golf. After searching and searching for a sport to fall in love with, I found volleyball in seventh grade. I started out as a D1 setter, running a 5-1 in my 13s and 14s club year. In my 14s year, my team and I were lucky enough to go to Nationals in Detroit. It was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever attended. Nationals was one of the most fun experiences I have been through, but this was definitely the eye-opener. I realized that I have to work hard in order to get what I want in life, even if it isn't fun or easy. After I came back to school, I ran a 6-2 with another setter and it went fine. But when my sophomore year came, I wasn't picked for setting, so I was just a right side and I was extremely disappointed, but this just showed me that not everything will go your way in life, and you have to just work harder to achieve your goals. In all of my volleyball experiences, I have learned the act of humbleness, confidence, and leadership skills.
In the past, for volunteer work, I have helped bring thanksgiving dinner to families who specifically cannot afford it, I have volunteered decorating Christmas trees and delivering them to people who are lonely in the community, and participated in Operation Christmas Child every year. In the past, I hosted a card decorating party to help raise money for kids with cleft palates. In the end, I raised $4,000! My family and I have supported compassion children throughout the years, Bania, Visent, and currently Alondra Cristel. I am looking for a college that will fit me athletically, but most importantly, academically. School is one of the biggest, most important parts of my life.
