Hi coaches, my name is Defne Ceken, from Stamford CT. I am 16 years old L/DS however I have been playing as an OH for my school varsity team at Westhill High School since my Freshman year. I strongly believe that success in volleyball goes beyond innate talent; it is a product of consistent dedication and a continuous desire for improvement. Competing at the varsity level for Westhill has been a bewildering experience. Every practice and game, whether a win or loss, has taught me the importance of resilience, hard work, and leadership. These experiences have not only made me a stronger athlete but fostered a determined and passionate character in me. Balancing school work, club, and personal duties has pushed me to perfect my time management and prioritize organization. I recently joined a new club, All Star Empire in the Bronx, and I am excited to bring my value and bubbly personality into the program. My goal is not only for personal improvement but to contribute to the team's collective growth. Stepping on the court, I put my game face on. I am ready to train hard and give 110% every time. I believe in bringing good vibes both on and off the court because, hey, loving what you do and having fun is just as important as putting in the hard work!
