Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Niscelly Cuellar. I am a 15-year old sophomore graduating in 2025. I have been playing volleyball since I was 11. As a JV player in 2019 and 2020, I competed in the Florida Christian Conference All-Star game. In addition to that, at the end of 2019, I was Defensive Player of the Year and at the end of 2020, I was Best Offensive Player of the Year. I was captain for the Altamonte Christian Junior Varsity team in 2020-2021. Since the first time I touched a volleyball in sixth grade, I've loved volleyball and been passionate about it ever since. Being on a team has also pushed me out of my comfort zone and enabled me to be a better leader on and off the court. In addition, playing club at OTVA in my eighth grade year gave me extra time to hone my skills and better my technique. Since volleyball has become my passion, I knew for certain I wanted to play in college. I know that playing in college will do so much for my talent and will definitely sharpen my ability to play for the better.

I am a very hard worker that demonstrates grit in all that I do. I am a coachable athlete and will practice everything I possibly can that my coaches tell me so that when I walk back on that court, they will clearly see the change in that area. I not only work hard on the court but also in my academics. I have maintained a 4.22 GPA and will continue to do so throughout high school.

I am open to options across the country but I am highly striving for a college close to home if possible. I want to play at the best college possible that will prepare me athletically and academically for the road after college. Academics comes first for me and then athletics. I discipline and push myself to the end striving to be the best student athlete I can be.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
