Abigail Deacon Hi...Personal Statement
My name is Abby Deacon.
I am a class of 2024 setter from Algonquin, Illinois. I can run a fast-paced offense and I am able to work defensively as well. I have run both 5-1’s and 6-2’s and am strategic when I am on the court. I want to learn new techniques to make myself a stronger setter, allowing my team to have more growth opportunities as well. I contribute to the team however I can. This year, I ended the club season with 108 aces (689 serve attempts), 94 kills (364 attempts), 1 solo block and 6 block assists, 506 assists (1,866 assist attempts) and 337 digs. I am a positive and energetic person both on and off the court. My goal is to play for a competitive college, that provides me the opportunity to grow athletically but also academically, as I want to have a successful career in engineering after college.

- 17 Theta is the highest level offered for my age bracket this season. I am excited for this season because I am setting, and I also get to play right side.
- 2021 Top Flight Volleyball Club (16 Elite)
- National team. Played at the Open / Premier level. Most of the season, we ran a 6-2, however, as the season progressed, we began playing a 5-1. According to AES Power Rankings, my team was in the top 15% of all the teams in the 16U category (4,529), ending the season ranked 674th. At this year's AAU Nationals in Florida, my team was seeded 102 out of 120 teams at the 16 Premier level. We finished 55th. We also took 1st at the Navy Pier Asics tournament. This year was a great year. I loved playing at the premier/open level and growing as a competitor.
