I have had the honor of teaching and coaching Elizabeth for the past several years at Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing, Illinois. During this time, I have observed Elizabeth’s hard work and dedication toward her art, volleyball and other academic areas. Elizabeth has superior work ethics. Her hard work and positive attitude has helped her with her success throughout her high school career. Elizabeth is dedicated and focused with her education, which is also portrayed through her outstanding artwork. She is naturally talented and creative. In addition to her creative skills in art, she is also a kind and gentle person by nature. She is open minded, always willing to take on a challenge even if it’s difficult, yet doesn’t give up. She has mastered time management very well, and knows what it means to make the deadline. "Elizabeth is a player who is incredibly dedicated to improving her volleyball skills and becoming a stronger athlete. She started in our high school program as a middle hitter and was converted as a sophomore into a setter and right side. She had understandable hesitation about taking on this role but accepted it along with its responsibilities. She absorbed instruction and work diligently to perfect the new skills required in this position shift. She also pushed herself physically outside of standard practice and conditioning times to become quicker, more agile, and build strength. Her intelligence and determination have allowed her to progress into a key contributing player at the varsity level. She lead the team in assists and kills as a junior. " Carrie King (Coach)
