Personal Statement

Throughout my life, I have loved playing a variety of sports from track and cross country, to swim team, soccer, basketball, and volleyball through eighth grade. I love the competition that comes with sports, but also the camaraderie you build with teammates as you work toward a common goal and push each other to become better to reach the next level. As much as I’ve enjoyed playing multiple sports, I decided to focus on volleyball because I have a passion for the game! I'm sure some of that comes from being around volleyball my whole life since my whole family loves to play!  I have always been a natural leader and encourager, so the setting position has been a great fit and enabled me to continue to develop those skills.  I also enjoy pushing myself in the classroom, so I will be prepared for the greater academic challenge I will face in college and in my career in the future.

I am currently playing for Illini Elite Volleyball Club on the 17U Black team. Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to continue playing the game I love at the collegiate level. Through having a challenging class load and being on a highly competitive volleyball team I have learned a strong work ethic and the ability to prioritize and organize my time to accomplish my goals.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
