In seventh grade, I tried out for my school volleyball team and have loved the game ever since. I always try to bring my A - game and best attitude to practice and matches. Volleyball has impacted my life in tremendous ways like teaching me good sportsmanship, how to be an encouraging yet instructive teammate, how to stay positive, and to work hard whenever I play.
My freshman year of high school, I played on the sophomore team and was captain and received co - MVP at the end of the season. I also was pulled up to varsity for our regional tournament. This season was such a fun and educational experience for me.
My Sophomore year of high school volleyball, I was asked to fill the position of being a middle for my varsity team. I was a starter and very happy to be a versatile player that can play multiple different positions.
This past school season has been the best one yet. I was given the opportunity to be the starting libero for Lincoln-Way West Volleyball. we placed 3rd in the gold bracket at multiple tournaments and placed 2nd in conference. Being libero was a completely new position for me and I loved adapting and learning the challenges of that position.
I have played club for about four years now. I have played for Uno Volleyball Club, where I was on the 2nd team my first year, and the elite team my 2nd. Now, I'm an athlete at 1st Alliance Volleyball club where I competed with the Navy and Blue teams. I have had the opportunity to win multiple tournaments with both teams. In 2017, we placed 1st in the Wisconsin Jr. President's Day Tournament, 1st Alliance Pre-Summer Classic, the Midwest Crossroads Finale, and at the 2017 AAU National Tournament, we placed 9th in Gold in the Classic Division. In 2018, my team and I won the 2018 Rockin' Rockford 16 Classic. Club has given me so many opportunities like making life long friends and letting me compete as some of the highest levels in the game of volleyball. I am forever thankful.
The next step in my volleyball career is to play in college. I must play as hard as I can to obtain my future goal and become the best player I can be, on and off the court.
