Personal Statement
I‘m Mary Jukes and I started volleyball in the 8th grade. All of my friends were doing it and I thought, why not try out. I ended up making the varsity volleyball team. The more I played, the more I loved the sport. After my first school season of volleyball I tried out for my local travel team. I didn‘t make the best team but I couldn’t complain because I had just started playing. As I worked harder I saw better results. It’s been three years since then and I believe I have grown so much. I strongly believe I could add character and strength to any team. I mesh well with most anyone and get along with anyone as well. I am easy to coach and will take any critiques I can get. I work hard in school even if I’m not good at a certain subject. Volleyball isn’t the only thing I enjoy doing. In fact, I try to involve myself including clubs and after school activities.
