I am a dedicated teenager to the sport of volleyball. I have been playing this amazing sport since I was in 5th grade, being 10 years old. I actually started off hating the sport, my sister would make me play with her all the time growing up and I never had an interest in it. She is actually the reason I went out for it because I wanted to be like her. As I got older, I began to fall in love with it. I grew up in a small town, so I was not able to fully grow as a player until I moved to Bettendorf with a more developed program. I knew I wanted to play at the collegiate level after my Sophomore season because I realized I did not want to stop playing in 2 years. After my Junior year, I was introduced to the club Iowa Rockets by a close friend of mine who has been playing there since she was young. I made the top team, and learned how to improve my skills even more and I learned a new position, right side/opposite.
In addition of continuing to play on the court, I am very focused on my studies. I know that my volleyball career will not last forever, so finding a school with what I am looking for academically is very important for me. I plan on getting a degree in Biology or going into Pre-Vet, I have not fully decided yet. A school that has a good program in either of these is ideal so that I can earn a degree that I am proud in.
