My name is Annabelle Vaught. I am the 17-year-old daughter of Eric and Caryn Vaught. I am currently a junior at Jefferson County North High School (JCN) in Winchester, Kansas. Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in the following sports: volleyball, basketball, track and powerlifting.
I have played club volleyball since I was in the 7th grade playing for Kansas Ice, Topeka Saints and The Atchison Attackers. I truly enjoy playing club volleyball for I am able to play full rotation. I have also learned a variety tips and tricks when playing at the club leave that I would not have learned in high school. Throughout my high school volleyball career I have played outside hitter and middle hitter. I enjoy playing the front row positions and I know I could impact your program. I have a passion for volleyball. I have a strong work ethic and go beyond what is required of me on the court. I spend at least once a week with a personal training in volleyball. This is not required of my club team. This is my personal time working on a sport I enjoy playing. This has helped me grow as a better player on my team.
Being a multi-sport athlete I have been able to receive several awards. I was named honorable mention two years in a row for volleyball and lettered three years at this time. In track I have participated in the state track meet both my freshman and sophomore years in the 4x800; 4x400 and 4x100. I have been fortunate enough to stand on the medal podium two times, freshman and sophomore years. In basketball, I have been named honorable mention, Hiawatha’s Player To Bank on two years in a row, JCN Mid-Season All-Tournament Team two years and all-league first team.
My involvement in school is beyond sports. I currently hold a 3.75 GPA. At JCN I am Junior Class Vice-President of the FBLA Chapter, Junior Class President and a member of the JCN Power Lifting Club.
Outside of school, I have been an active 4-H member since the age of seven. I have held a variety of offices and currently serving as President of my local club along with being a countywide ambassador. I have also participated in a variety of projects, but my two favorites are leadership and sheep.
Through my sports activities and 4-H I have learned that hard work and dedication does pay off. I have learned how to win and lose gracefully.
