My varsity volleyball career at high school level began my eighth grade year, when a local high school coach asked me to attend her team's pre-game practice. Shortly after practice began, she asked me to play both JV and varsity games that night. My performance earned me a spot on the Varsity team for the remainder of the season.
Although I was very fortunate to be given this opportunity, I decided to attend a different high school where as a freshman, I was a starter on both the JV and varsity team. By the time I was a Junior, I gained the role of captain and have continued to grow my leadership skills. While I am very committed to volleyball, I am equally committed to my education having maintained a 3.7 GPA throughout my high school career. In college, I plan to focus on my academics to become a special education teacher, while continuing volleyball at a higher level.
