Personal Statement
Throughout the past 17 years a lot has influenced who I am today such as my friends and especially my family. My parents have always encouraged me to take on tasks that are out my comfort zone and challenged me to do things I would never do on my own. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t pushed myself, but their help and encouragement has allowed me to reach and exceed a number of my goals. My coaches have also made an impact on the person I am today due to the potential they’ve seen in me on and off the court. They have also seen the growth in my game over the past few years as a key contributor on the varsity team beginning my sophomore year. They challenge themselves to come up with new ways for me to push the limits of my potential and guide me into a direction of greatness. I was first introduced to volleyball in 7th grade when my P.E. coach noticed my height and thought I should try out. I decided to give it a shot and fell in love with the game! I realized through hard work and consistency I had an opportunity to be successful in this sport. While playing volleyball for the past several years, I’ve noticed my passion and intensity when it comes to volleyball competition. In addition to being competitive, I am a fast learner and can be versatile at different positions whenever my coach requires. My academic goal for high school is to maintain a 3.8- 4.0 GPA and to be in the top 20 of my class. Some unique characteristics that I possess are; self motivation, natural on the court leader, driven to continuously improve, and I take pride in helping others - whether in sports or everyday life.
