- 2019 Highlights #2
Personal Statement
I have had a soccer ball at my feet since I was 1 year old and played "organized" soccer since I was 3 years old. As long as I can remember I have wanted to play beyond high school. Sports have always been a big part of my life. My dad played hockey growing up and was drafted by the Red Wings. My step-dad played soccer growing up and is always willing to help and practice with me. I am constantly outside with my ball when I'm not at practice or training. At age 12, I was invited to practice with the US Women's National Team when they were in town to play China. My club hosted their training. Our U17 team was allowed to practice, and I was the only 12 year old asked to join. I am captain of my club team and was also captain for middle school team. This year, I was asked to play with my club's 02/03 team (ranked 71st in the nation) at their college showcase. I played in every game as a high school freshman for both JV and Varsity teams. Our team made it to the state semi-finals falling 4-3 in the last minute on an own goal to the team that ultimately won the championship. As a sophomore, I start and play all Varsity games. I'm a strong leader and am a team player. I understand that a true leader helps make those around him better. I work hard in school and understand the importance of a good education. For club I play center back and striker when needed. For my high school JV and Varsity I play center mid, holding and attacking. However, I can and will play any position that benefits my team. I would love the opportunity to play at the highest college level possible and beyond. My ultimate goal is to obtain a college degree from a great school. Being able to play soccer to help make that dream a reality would be awesome.
