I discovered volleyball at a middle school summer camp and was so intrigued that I decided to try out for a club volleyball team the following fall. I was selected with close to no experience, and my volleyball journey began. Thanks to the sport I love, I have grown tremendously by honing my leadership ability, learning to be strong and resilient, understanding the value of problem-solving skills in the face of adversity, and seeing the importance of striving to improve in all that I do.
I am dedicated to putting my all into volleyball during practices and games and working independently to sharpen my skills. I proactively ask for feedback from my coaches to ensure I continuously progress in my game. As a team captain on my club team last season, I had the opportunity to promote team camaraderie and lead by example. I am an empathetic leader who understands the challenges of sports and the hard work required to be a key player. I am also a leader who encourages others to move beyond challenges and become better. As a starter on my school varsity team, I had the opportunity to help my team get to the state semi-finals.
I am committed to performing at a high level academically and in my extracurricular activities as well. I have a 4.0 cumulative GPA, have taken several AP classes, received numerous academic achievement awards, and tutor others in Math. I also enjoy working out, drawing, reading, taking classes to improve my coding skills, and volunteering at my church. I have a creative flair and find joy in expressing myself through my art and coding. Additionally, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
I am eager to attend a university where I can learn and improve in all aspects of life: academics, sports, social, etc., and evolve into a better individual, contributor, and leader. I look forward to finding an institution that will allow me to pursue my academic passions and be a valuable member of the college’s volleyball team. I would love to bring my volleyball skills and positive, hardworking, and teachable attitude to the team. I aspire to be an excellent student, top-notch volleyball player, and inspirational leader, positively impacting those around me both on and off the court.
