From being a three-sport athlete throughout high school, I have been taught many valuable lessons, not just as an athlete but also as a person outside of sports. I always strive to encourage unity and trust in my teams; my efforts have been rewarded through opportunities such as being a 2023-24 MIAA Student Ambassador and a 5-time Volleyball, Track, and Tennis captain. My teammates and coaches have taught me how to be a part of a community where everyone has to work together to succeed. Volleyball has shown me how to overcome adversity, work with others, respect different types of people, and demonstrate leadership, which I value inside and outside of sports. One of my most significant hardships has been trying to overcome mental blocks while playing, and I've improved by relying on my teammates, staying focused, and maintaining confidence.
In addition to my passion for volleyball, I take my academic responsibilities seriously and understand that being a student-athlete requires discipline and time management skills. Some of my goals are to ultimately build on my entrepreneurial mindset through visual arts and advertisement to become a creative director. My dedication, hard work, and passion make me a strong candidate, and I'm excited about continuing my volleyball career at the collegiate level.
