Hailey Brinker '27 Recruiting Profile

The first time I ever touched a volleyball I was 11. I was practicing in my yard preparing for my tryouts.  I was still trying to find the sport that I was passionate about. I had done gymnastics, softball. soccer and many others but they never seemed like the right fit for me. Walking into the gym I was extremely nervous about how I was going to do having never played before. I remember the minute I started playing it just felt right. I knew that volleyball had something waiting for me I just had to find it. Over my first season we learned the basics and started improving every day. I loved when me and my teammates accomplished our goals because it felt that all our hard work was starting to pay off. I became more confident on the court and about myself I became more of a leader to my teammates. I was captain of my 8th grade school season, club season, and my freshman season. I am a very dedicated player and if I want something done I will work towards the goal I have until I reach it. I believe to never settle for anything and that I can always be better then the last goal. I love to keep learning the advancements to the game so I can keep going up the ladder of my goals. I like to push my teammates around me to be the best version of themselves and no matter how the game is going I always stay positive. I believe that volleyball has taught me more than just the sport. I have learned that its okay to make mistakes and they are just apart of the process leading up to the results. I have met really awesome people and learned to make new friends. Other than just volleyball I care about academics and helping around in the community like babysitting, volunteering at church, and at food drives and so much more. I believe that the work you put in will pay off and to never give up when it gets tough because all it can do is teach you and push you to be better. I hope no matter where I go I can always be myslef and feel accepted.
