Personal Statement

Since I began playing club volleyball in eighth grade, I’ve become a more determined volleyball player and person.  On my high school team, I am one of only 2 juniors, along with 11 seniors. This has encouraged my competitive side as I fight during every game and practice to earn a starting spot. In my opinion, nothing beats the feeling of winning a competitive game of volleyball as a team. Keeping that feeling in mind, my everyday goal is to play better than the day before in order to improve the team and myself as a player.

After playing indoor volleyball for awhile, trying beach volleyball has notably increased my desire to get a touch on every ball I can. Beach volleyball is such a great opportunity for me to practice diving for every ball because you have to cover at least half of the court. I never get sick of trying harder and harder to become better at the sport I love most. I know that I will be a great fit for a program that acknowledges my determination along with my desire to play and win.
Throughout high school I have discovered my passion of working with 3D materials, whether it is with clay in ceramics class, or with food at home. I love to make functional pieces in ceramics class and bake food at home for my family. Although I want to keep baking as a hobby, I am considering fitting some kind of art into my major at college.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
