Hi everyone! My name is Anna Wasula and I love to play volleyball. I stay busy playing varsity and club volleyball, indoor and outdoor track, running my own business, and keeping a 4.23 Unweighted GPA average at school. At a young age I achieved a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. One of the writings on the wall in our dojang was “a black belt is a white belt who didn’t quit; Earning a Black Belt is not just a physical task, but also a mental achievement, requiring both perseverance, discipline, and integrity. I have played school volleyball since 3rd grade, and club volleyball since I was 11. In school I played on the Junior Varsity team in both 7th and 8th grade. As a freshman I was chosen to play as a starter on the Varsity team. This season I play on my club’s 16U A travel team. Even though volleyball is time consuming, I have become an expert in time management skills. I won the 2023 sectionals in shot put for indoor track. In addition to maintaining a 4.23 Unweighted GPA, I also run my own business on Etsy. The business has over 1,000 sales per year, with several bestsellers and 5-star reviews. Reflecting on my life I am very mindful of how fortunate I am. Consequently, I dedicate my time to helping the homeless on Friday nights, and 10% of the profits from my business are donated to a good cause which plants trees around the world where they are needed most.
