Sophia Denham '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sophia Denham, and I am a junior, attending Barrington High School in Barrington Rhode Island.  I am a starting setter for the Varsity Girl's Volleyball Team. I have been on the varsity team for the past two years as a starting setter / right-side. In college, I would like to major in criminal justice at a school on the east coast. I would describe myself as a hardworking, determined, and passionate person.  I am constantly working on my game beyond just the high school season.  I dedicate myself in the gym with a personal trainer, attend individual volleyball training, play club volleyball at South County Volleyball of Rhode Island and attend summer volleyball camps, such as the hitting / serving and all skills camps at Penn State in the summer of 2022.  The Smash Volleyball Setters Camp in the summer of 2023 and every summer I participate in the Blast Beach League and South County Grass League.  I would describe myself as a person who believes that my game can always improve.  I believe that I am a leader not only on the court but also off the court.  I am a strong advocate of leading by example, that is why I have dedicated myself to my grades in school and my ability to becoming the best teammate and player I can be.  I know that hard work and commitment are the major attributes to success.
