Clara Cloninger '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello, My name is Clara  and I have been playing volleyball every since I can remember.  At  7 years old, I made a 12u regional team and thought that was the coolest thing ever.  At age 10, I had my first  official tryout with Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club.  There are banners that hang high up in the rafters at our club.  Here list all the volleyball players before me to play on the next level.  I made a goal on that day, my name would be on a banner.  At age 11, I was one of only 14 other 11 year olds to be selected to USA volleyball high performance training in Nashville, Tn. and then selected again in 2020, however was unable to attend due to Covid 19 restrictions.  I lead by example and never ask anything of my teammates, I wouldn't ask of myself.  I treat others as I would have them treat me.  I am a student of the game and spend countless hours watching the sport I love.  I continue to play at Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club on their 14 Elite team.  Our team ended up winning a qualifier and placed 3rd at USAV. I would say the best thing about Volleyball is all the many friends  and coaches I have met throughout this journey, so far. I moved schools and made Varsity volleyball at North Myrtle Beach High School as an 8th grader, we won our region and I was awarded MVP!  I strive for perfection in academics as well as athletics.  I am a team player and a hard worker!
