I have been part of a volleyball team for the past five years and have loved every minute. While I love actually playing volleyball I also love being part of a team. I love the sense of family that my teams have always experienced. I love being a good role model for the younger girls who are at the gym and tournaments with us.
Volleyball has provided me with the opportunity to grow as an athlete as well as a person. It has given me the opportunity to be mentally as well as physically stronger. I have gained self-confidence and learned the importance of persistence. Skills can be learned and improved upon with enough practice. Playing volleyball has given me the opportunity to be in a leadership role and provides me with the challenge of needing to continually improve. I have also learned the importance of being accountable to a group of people. While volleyball is a team sport I recognize that each individual needs to take responsibility for doing their part.
I am as serious about my academics as I am about volleyball. It is so important to me to go to a college where I can experience both great academics and great volleyball. I love a challenge and look forward to attending college and hopefully getting the opportunity to play volleyball at the college level.
