Asena Tapaevalu '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Asena Tapaevalu and I am a 6'0" tall middle blocker from Austin, Texas. I play all the way around and I am a very aggressive player. I have played volleyball for six years, four of those years playing club for Texas Shock Volleyball. I carry a high GPA of 3.7 and enroll in all AP classes. In college, I plan on majoring in Architectural Engineering, and ultimately getting a masters degree. I am a very skilled player with a very volleyball-smart mindset. I work hard on and off the court to better myself for my team and focus intently on my academic life as well. I am a coachable player who can take criticism and instruction extremely well and can implement those directions on the court to the best of my abilities. In my free time I like to spend time with my family and friends watching movies or doing any type of physical activity. Coming from an athletic family and making friends who are also athletes, I am surrounded by positive influences who I can work hard and play hard with at any time.
