LilyAnn Shannon '25 Recruiting Profile

I was introduced to volleyball in the fourth grade through a community sports program. I also tried basketball and track during this time but I fell in love with volleyball. I knew then that this was the sport for me and playing at the varsity level has only increased my commitment to become the best volleyball player I can be. My high school team won the Texas 3A state tournament in 2023 and the opportunity to be a starting middle really pushed me as a player and team leader. I loved the feeling of getting to play in a high pressure situation and being a player that my teammates could count on no matter what. It was definitely an amazing experience, and one that I look forward to next year. I’m an athlete that works hard and puts in the effort to achieve my goals. I am a team player who listens and encourages my teammates whether it’s an amazing play or something that needs improvement. When I’m not playing volleyball, I am usually reading, watching movies, or spending time with my family and friends.  After high school, I want to major in animal science since my ultimate goal is to become a veterinarian.
