Personal Statement

My love for volleyball started at age seven.  I played club at the YMCA and at the time I was the only player serving overhand,  this included junior high players.  Since then I have developed a lethal float serve and I am working on improving my jump float.  I can also zone serve and topspin.  At eleven I made my first Lone Star Region Volleyball club and played 13U, it is here that I was taught to play all positions, even middle block.  I credit my coaches for molding me into an all around player and I understand now how valuable it is to posses these skills.  I've been to the GJNC and experienced first hand the fan hype and the importance of zoning out and the mental as well as the physical toughness required to compete at this level.  I became a varsity starter my freshman year and it is here that I have found a passion for coaching that has help reinforce my game and helped us all dance with chemistry on the court.  I am young and still growing with the game.  I would love to play for any college in the future and I'm excited for my upcoming high school years.  Academics is most important to me, last year was a balancing act with volleyball and my goal this year is to improve on that.  I intend on pursuing a career in medicine.
