Katie Stanton '17 Recruiting Profile

I am Katie Stanton. I'm a junior at Norfolk Christian High School and I'm hoping to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I have been playing volleyball at a competitive level for six years and I have played travel volleyball for three years. This will be my fourth year playing travel volleyball and I will be playing for SERV 18’s Regional from Chesapeake, VA.  I am primarily a middle hitter, but can also play outside or right side as well. I have a decent setting ability and I have been a used as back up setter in my school’s volleyball program. I am about 6 feet tall and 130 lbs. I work well with people and I’m flexible to whatever my coaches need me to do. This year in school volleyball my coach has moved me from the middle blocker position to right side and I have adjusted well. I work hard for my spot on my court. I think on and off of the court I’m a good encourager to my teammates. Last year I played for MVP 16’s national and we had a very successful team. This year for high school volleyball we went to semifinals in the TCIS tournament. I was voted 2nd Team All-Conference in Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools. I have maintained a 3.4 grade point average and received High Honor Roll on my last report card.  I am a diligent student and I work hard on and off the court.  In college I hope to study sports medicine, so that I may begin a career in physical therapy.
